It's a shuffle update!

OK, so the basic premise of this blog has gone slightly off the boil in the last few weeks and I've actually been choosing what I listen to on my way to and from work.

This morning I gave the new Regina Spektor album 'Far' a listen. On first impression it seems as though she's followed 'Begin To Hope' with a decent offering. Nothing quite as catchy as 'Fidelity' but all in all it seemed to work. Not too over-warbly which was my main concern with the record. Will give it a bit more time and post an update soon enough...

Here's her latest single from the album, give it a listen and let me know what you think...

Anyway, on the way home from work I was at a loss for what to listen to so decided to put myself in the capable hands of the Mack-Ipod. Here's what it churned out for me...
  1. Velvet Underground - 'White Heat / White Light'
  2. Bloc Party - 'Positive Tension'
  3. Ting Tings - 'Shut Up and Let Me Go'
  4. Grizzly Bear - 'Ready, Able'
  5. Hot Hot Heat - 'Save Us S.O.S.'
  6. Neutral Milk Hotel - 'Three Peaches'
  7. Pete Doherty - 'Salome'
  8. Tortoise & Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - 'Poncho'
  9. Beatles - 'Long, Long, Long'
  10. Pj Harvey - 'Good Fortune'
  11. Hatcham Social - 'Hypnotise Terrible Eyes'
  12. Bright Eyes - 'Another Travellin' Song'
  13. The Sounds - 'Song With A Mission'
  14. Goldfrapp - 'Cologne Cerrone Houdini'
  15. They Might Be Giants - 'Put Your Hands Inside The Puppet Head'
  16. Girls Aloud - 'Love Machine'
  17. Martha Wainwright - 'Far Away'
  18. Let's Wrestle - 'I Won't Lie To You'
  19. Tokyo Police Club - 'If It Works'
Bit of a mish-mash of stuff in here, and most notably an appearance of Girls Aloud (!!). I can honestly say that was a shock to me. I wasn't aware that I owned any Girls Aloud, however I have to admit that I actually rather enjoyed it. It made shopping at Sainsbury's a lot more bearable and the shock of it actually made me laugh.

However with a view to maintaining some indie credibility (following a recent Katy Perry post) I thought that it would be a little safer to plump for PJ Harvey... Adore this track...

nice...
